Raft the Acheron at 11°C, the river the ancients believed carried souls to the underworld. Spring-fed, calm enough for a first-timer, guided the whole way. No experience needed.

The Acheron is spring-fed, with a steady, gentle current the whole way down. The 20–30 minute journey passes limestone walls and turquoise pools. Your guide steers and sets the pace, and all the safety equipment is provided.

The Acheron rafting stretch is spring-fed and shallow. Calm enough for children from age 6+, exciting enough to remember. Paddle through cool turquoise pools past limestone cliffs with an experienced guide beside you the whole way. Equipment is inspected daily. No prior experience needed.

How the
day unfolds.

About an hour from check-in to dry clothes. We give you time to warm up, rinse off, and decide if you want to stay for lunch by the springs.

    Check-in and meet your guide.

  2. Gear up & safety briefing

    Paddling fundamentals, route guidance, and a full safety briefing before launch.

  3. Launch at the Springs

    Away we go. Follow your guide into the river.

  4. On the river

    20–30 minutes of rafting, calm pools, and a run between the canyon walls.

  5. Return to base

    A short ride back, time to warm up and change.

  6. Free time by the river

    Stay for lunch or combine with another activity.

The Acheron's rafting stretch is spring-fed and shallow, with a steady current and no drops. Every trip runs with an experienced guide-to-paddler ratio of 1:6 or better. All equipment is inspected daily. Children from age 6 are welcome with a parent in the boat.

How long is the rafting trip?

The rafting experience lasts 20–30 minutes on the water, with additional time for safety briefing and equipment setup, and ride back to starting point.

Is rafting on the Acheron safe for kids?

Yes! Our rafting tours are designed to be family-friendly and safe for children 6 years and older. We provide all safety equipment and experienced guides.

What should I bring for rafting?

We recommend bringing swimwear, a towel, and water shoes. All safety equipment including life jackets and helmets are provided.

What should I do with my phone or valuables?

Leave phones, wallets, and anything non-waterproof at our base before the activity. We have a secure area at the meeting point.

What if it rains?

Light rain is fine. In case of storms or unsafe water levels we call the activity off. You pay on the day, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.

Is it safe for non-swimmers?

Yes. Life jackets are mandatory - but you must inform your guide so they can pair you thoughtfully.
